COVID-19 & Northeast Wisconsin Foot and Ankle Associates: While we are aligning our protocols with recommendations from the CDC, area health systems, and complying to the measures put forth by state and federal authorities, WE ARE CONTINUING TO SEE PATIENTS BOTH IN THE CLINIC AND IN SURGERY THAT HAVE PASSED AN INITIAL SCREENING PRIOR TO THEIR SCHEDULED EVENT. Part of the recommendations we have implemented include the following:
1-Rescheduling non-urgent appointments at least 30 days out from the existing appointment. Unless you are notified that we need to reschedule your appointment, we will keep your appointment on the schedule.
2-Patients are urged to come to their appointments alone unless it is necessary for one other person to accompany them, such as is the case for minors or those with physical or cognitive challenges. If a guest accompany’s a patient, they will be roomed with the patient or will need to leave the facility while the patient is in their appointment. We currently are not allowing guests to remain in the reception area.
3-Scheduled surgeries are also being evaluated based on specific surgery center protocol. We will be contacting surgical patients that have surgeries two weeks out from the current week to inform them of developments that may affect their surgery. Due to the quickly changing developments, it does not benefit anyone to look at surgeries scheduled beyond two weeks.

"Before treatments I was only able to wear shoes that had a firm base and solid support for the arch. It was painful to walk on inclined surfaces and descend stairs. Basic household duties caused pain to shoot through my foot or extreme pain in the ball of my foot. However, after receiving MLS Laser treatments, I can ascend and descend stairs without pain. I am able to spend 8 hours on my feet with much less discomfort at the end of the day. I have worn other shoes for a couple hours at a time with much less discomfort though firm support on the base is still preferred."
"Before treatments with the MLS Laser I could not do a lot of walking, climbing stairs, or much of anything else. The heel and arch of my left foot was in constant pain. I wore a brace for 6-8 weeks and had physical therapy. Neither was much help. So I had the laser therapy and it has changed my life. I now never wear a brace and am very happy about its improvement in my foot."
I now have the energy and desire to do everyday things. I can climb stairs and walk for longer times than I have for long time. I am happier again also. When your feet hurt, you hurt all over. With the laser treatments you could feel the difference almost immediately. If feels good to want to do things rather than just sit in a chair.
"Before treatments with the MLS Laser I could not walk or run on a treadmill or use the elliptical without experiencing pain in the heel or side of the foot. Normal daily activities were painful to do."
After receiving MLS Laser treatments, swelling in the foot was gone. I started using an elliptical with very little pain and moving around at work was much easier. Pain would come and go, but with stretching of the foot it seemed to loosen it up.
"Before treatments with the MLS Laser I could not walk barefoot, run, lift heavy weights, or do most of the exercise I enjoyed without extreme pain. I would also occasionally have trouble walking to my classes that were more than 10 minutes away and uphill."
After receiving MLS Laser treatments, I am able to walk barefoot around the house and at work (I’m a lifeguard). I am also able to run for four miles with minimal (1-2) or no pain, lift heavier weights when squatting and dead lifting.
"I can now walk without constant pain in the arches of my feet and left heel. Traci really listened to my complaints before each treatment and adjusted the use of the laser wand however she thought would help the most. After the 9th treatment, it was like something else released on the sole of my left foot. I would recommend laser for others."
"I was pessimistic at first. It took 9-10 times before I really started to feel a difference. It is definitely a lot better now. I can walk without pain. This treatment was well worth it. I would recommend it to others."
"I had a case of toenail fungus that affected me for years! I had 12 laser treatments, as well as took some medication to clear it up. After 12 treatments my feet look completely different. I am totally satisfied with this outcome and I am so glad I went through with it."
"I believe the 4 laser treatments I had enhanced and perhaps sped the healing process. Prior to my first treatment, I had pronounced swelling and discomfort. That same evening following the first treatment those symptoms were greatly reduced; my foot was noticeably less swollen and more comfortable. I am very satisfied, thumbs up!"
"Dr. Schinke recommended a nonsurgical treatment which encompassed heel injections and a course of laser therapy. The injections provided me a great deal of pain relief within hours. My condition was complicated by arthritic heel spurs that add to the trauma and pain in my heels. Dr. Schinke recommended a course of 12 MLS laser treatments. The treatments reduced the swelling in the heel allowing me greater flexibility in the affected joints. Additional laser therapy treatments provided me greater pain relief which enhanced my healing process. I am working on my goal of walking 1-2 miles per day."
"I heard about the MLS laser therapy and wanted to see if I was a candidate. I always had pain in my feet during and after working out no matter if it was running, biking, circuit training, yoga, etc. The pain was typically across the top of the foot and sometimes on the bottom of the feet. After about 3-4 treatments I noticed a significant improvement and now and I have little to no pain. I am very satisfied with the laser therapy; I have and will continue to recommend it to others."
"I can now put my mind on other tasks vs. being distracted by pain. I am very satisfied and would highly recommend for this condition."
"Before treatment I couldn’t walk faster than a slow limp without pain! I had pain in my arch, ankle and heel. After 12 sessions of Laser Therapy I can walk with little to no pain. I would definitely recommend Laser Therapy to others."
"I was diagnosed with Tendinitis in my foot and had 10 treatments of MLS Laser Therapy as of today. It definitely reduced the swelling and pain that I had and it certainly did speed up the recovery time. I feel I am almost at 100% improvement and am now able to walk without pain. I am very much satisfied with this treatment and recommend it to others."
"I highly recommend the MLS Laser Therapy and give it a 10+ rating. I was skeptical at first, but after just 3 treatments the inflammation was almost non-existent. The traveling pain was subdued to just one area and gradually diminished. My leg and foot cramps disappeared also. I can now put pressure and balance on one foot, stretch foot and exercise. Traci is very in tune with your needs."
"I would recommend Laser Therapy to anyone who has swelling and sensitivity after surgery. After my extensive foot surgery (bunion and four hammer toes) I had a considerable amount of swelling – even after 8 weeks post-surgery. After just one laser treatment I was able to fit my foot into my regular shoe. Additional treatments reduced swelling further. I was able to “wiggle “my toes and the treatments also reduced sensitivity in the incision areas.
The treatments were painless; the Technician explained the process thoroughly and was very personable and easy to work with. The laser treatments were reasonably priced. I strongly recommend laser treatments."
"After 6 Laser Therapy treatments, my toe mobility has greatly improved and the pain I felt has decreased tremendously. In the future, I would recommend laser treatments to my friends and family if they should require after bunion surgery or for arthritis pain."
"I was diagnosed with Tendinitis in my ankle. Dr. Schinke suggested doing laser treatments to help with the healing and also to wear a boot to help support and strengthen my ankle. I did the 12 treatments and could feel the improvements. The swelling went down and I was able to move and turn my foot more easily. The treatment felt relaxing and soothing. Traci, the Laser Technician, was pleasant and helpful with her questions and concerns on how I was doing. I think I’m at a 99% improvement. The treatment was worthwhile for healing and to get me back on my foot."
"After months of pain and swelling of my right ankle, I went to NE WI Foot and Ankle to see Dr. Schinke. She recommended Laser Therapy and after 12 treatments the pain is 80% better. Traci, the Laser Technician, made the experience very pleasant. It’s wonderful to be able to stand and walk again without all the pain. I would highly recommend this treatment to anyone with similar problems."
